The Akamai sustainability team actively participates in global conferences to create awareness, share knowledge, and foster collaboration to help build a sustainable future for all. The team is involved in positively impacting the environment and society through sustainable business practices and innovative solutions. By attending these conferences, the team gains a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities in sustainability, and works toward finding ways to address them. Through these events each year, we work hard to be at the forefront of driving change toward a more sustainable future.

IBC

IBC is an annual trade show that brings together the global media, entertainment, and technology community to connect, showcase, and discover innovations; tackle pressing industry challenges; and explore new opportunities. At a recent event, in partnership with Media Tech Sustainability Series and Greening of Streaming, Akamai helped launch the Media Climate Accord, which unites content creators, broadcasters, studios, vendors, streamers, and infrastructure providers in a common goal: to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040, and to transform the media industry into a beacon of climate innovation, collaboration, and accountability. At the same event, these three partners piloted a discussion-led forum on setting sustainability goals that are bold, credible, and actionable. This session was geared toward all attendees and helped lay the groundwork for a longer-form version in the future.

New York City Climate Week

During a recent New York City Climate Week, Akamai participated in the CEBA event and the Japanese Climate Initiative Roundtable, among several other notable events. New York City Climate Week is an annual event that brings together leaders from various sectors to discuss and showcase solutions to climate change. The event features a series of conferences, exhibitions, and seminars focusing on renewable energy, sustainable transportation, and climate finance topics. Climate Week aims to raise awareness about the urgent need to address climate change and inspire action toward a more sustainable future.

CEBA Summit

CEBA Summit is a gathering of CEBA members from across the country and a variety of industries for a week of conversation, collaboration, and discovery as we advance our collective vision of customer-driven clean energy for all. At a recent CEBA Connect: Spring Summit, Akamai contributed to panels, connected to data center partners, and engaged in robust dialogues on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

New England Energy Conference & Exposition (NEECE)

NEECE is a unique event where industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators converged to explore the dynamic landscape of energy in the Northeast of the U.S. A recent theme, Gridlock or Growth: The Northeast’s Energy Evolution, delved into the critical challenges and exciting opportunities facing the region’s energy sector.
